When removal of decay results in thinner than desired remaining tooth structure, porcelain is used to restore the tooth in an area needing good to excellent esthetics. Placed in ascending order of the size of restoration, Porcelain can be used for inlays, onlays and crowns. When matched to natural teeth, there is practically no difference in appearance.
